Donald Trump heard gunshots while speaking at the election rally. Trump was taken away by members of the Secret Service with blood pouring from the wound to his face. Among them, the Republican Party leader raised his fists and chanted slogans: Reuters

The images of a defiant Trump with raised fists and chanting as he is escorted off stage by members of the Secret Service, blood pouring down his face, are not only historic, but could change the course of the US presidential election in November.

This unfortunate incident of political tolerance will inevitably have an impact on the election campaign. Members of the US Secret Service shot and killed the suspected attacker at the scene. Law enforcement officials told CBS News, the BBC’s US affiliate, that they were treating the attack as an assassination attempt.

His son Eric Trump quickly posted on social media a picture of a bloodied Trump with his fists raised while surrounded by members of the security forces. In the caption of the photo, he wrote, ‘This warrior is what America needs.’

President Joe Biden appeared on television immediately after the shooting. He said, there is no place for this kind of political harmony in the United States. He expressed concern for the Republican opponent. The White House said Biden spoke to Trump on the phone later.

Biden’s campaign has suspended all political speeches following the attack on Trump. It has also taken the initiative to stop all television advertising as soon as possible. They clearly realized that it would not be right to promote anything attacking Donald Trump at this time. Instead, they focused on condemning the incident at this time.

US presidential election campaign :

Everyone in the US political arena is condemning this attack. They are simultaneously saying that there is no place for violence in democracy.

Former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter—all quickly spoke out against violence. They breathed a sigh of relief that Trump was not seriously injured.

However, some of Trump’s close allies and supporters are already blaming Biden for the incident. A Republican congressman has already accused President Biden of “inciting assassination attempts” in a post on X.

Senator JD Vance is believed to be on Trump’s short list of potential vice presidential candidates. He said that the political statements that have been propagated by the Biden camp are responsible for this incident.

Other Republican politicians are making similar claims. These statements coming from the opposing camp must be condemned. It will be said that these provocative statements are being made at a difficult time in US politics.

It can be assumed that the fight that has already started over a deeply sad incident in US politics will take an even uglier form in the future. And this will change the campaign hof this election.
