British MP Rushnara Ali of Bangladeshi origin took charge in the new government of the United Kingdom. He became Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Rushnara’s name was added as the second Bangladeshi origin in this government.

Earlier, Tulip Siddique became the ‘City Minister’ of this government on Tuesday. She is the granddaughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu’s youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana’s daughter Tulip.

The names of Tulip and Rushnara appeared on the list of ministers published on the UK government website on Tuesday.

The general election was held in the United Kingdom on July 4. As a Labor Party candidate, Rushnara Ali was elected MP for the fifth time from Bethnalgreen and Stepney constituencies in the Bangladeshi-dominated Tower Hamlets area.

Rushanara is the first MP of Bangladeshi origin in the UK Parliament. He has been elected as an MP since 2010 in London’s Bangladeshi-dominated Tower Hamlets constituency. Rushnara was born in Sylhet. When Rusna was seven years old, her family moved to the UK. He graduated from St John’s College, Oxford with a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
