Ramadan
Spread the love

The month of Ramadan is a special blessing for us from the Almighty Lord. This is the month of fasting, the month of purity, the month of self-purification! In this month Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala opens the doors of infinite mercy, forgiveness and salvation for us.

We are fortunate enough to observe fast in this great month of supplication, thanks to the Creator for that. Every moment of this month is precious. Every good deed increases manifold.

Order of worship in Ramadan

There are special instructions for worship from Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) in this holy month, which brings good blessings to every Muslim. If you perform more prayers in this month, you can get closer to Allah and have the opportunity to forgive sins. One of the most important acts of worship in Ramadan is fasting.

Fasting (sawm) – obligatory worship

Fasting during Ramadan is Fard (obligatory) for every adult, healthy Muslim. The basic meaning of fasting is abstinence.

Fasting in Arabic is called “sawm” (sawm), which means to observe silence, abstinence or self-restraint. In Islamic Shari’ah, fasting is the act of abstaining from food, drink and sexual intercourse from dawn till sunset.

Allah Ta’ala says:

“O you who believe! Fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoined upon the Ummah before you—that you may attain piety.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah: 183)

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and expectation of reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven.”

(Sahih Bukhari: 38, Sahih Muslim: 760)

Fasting is not just fasting; Rather, it is a training in self-restraint and self-purification. Through fasting people can control their ego and it becomes easier to attain taqwa.

Taraweeh Prayer – Special Sunnah Prayer

Taraweeh prayer is one of the most important acts of worship in Ramadan. It is a special prayer of the month of Ramadan . which is recited after the Isha prayer. This is Sunnat Mu’akkadah (Sunnat to be observed with great importance).

Taraweeh prayer how many rakat?

According to most scholars, the Taraweeh prayer is 20 rakats.

One can pray 8 rakats if he wants, but 20 rakats is better and more meritorious.

It is better to perform witr prayer after Taraweeh.

During the time of Hazrat Umar (R.A.), the Companions recited 20 Rakats of Taraweeh.

(Mu’atta Imam Malik: 250)

Dua recited after every four rakats of Taraweeh prayer

Glory be to Him, Lord of dominion and kingdom, Glory be to Him of glory, greatness, majesty, power, pride, and might.

Pronunciation:

“Subhanazi’l-Mulki wal-Malakut, Subhanazi’l-Izzati wal-Ajmati wal-Haybati wal-Qudrati wal-Kibriyai wal-Jabarut.”

Meaning:

“His Holiness is the possessor of majesty and sovereign power, His Holiness is the possessor of honor, majesty, horror, power, majesty, and majesty.”

This prayer creates an opportunity for self-purification and strengthens the relationship with the Holy Quran throughout Ramadan.

Conclusion

Fasting and Taraweeh prayers are the most meritorious of all acts of worship in Ramadan. So in this month we should perform these prayers properly to gain nearness to Allah.
