There was a plan to kill Parliamentarian Anwar Anwarul Azim in 2024.The killers thought of killing him on January 18 and throwing him in the waste canal of Kolkata. But Anwarul did not go to Calcutta that day and went to January 19, that plan failed. For this, Aktaruzzaman alias Shaheen called him to Kolkata for business talks in May.

Anwarul Azim was killed in Kolkata on May 13. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has got a picture of the murder of the parliament member by analyzing the data found in the investigation including the interrogation of the accused arrested in the two countries, information obtained from the Kolkata Police, travel records, digital evidence. A summary in this regard has been conveyed to the higher authorities of the police on behalf of the investigators. It is said that Aktaruzzaman alias Shaheen is a friend of the member of parliament Anwarul. Both are reputed to have gold businesses in Calcutta. There was conflict and anger between the two regarding the money transactions of the business they were doing.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has got a picture of the murder of the parliament member by analyzing the data found in the investigation including the interrogation of the accused arrested in the two countries, information obtained from the Kolkata Police, travel records, digital evidence.

Sources related to the investigation say that Aktaruzzaman and Shimul Bhuiyan. planned to kill Anwarul in his constituency (Kaliganj in Jhenaidah) before the 12th national election. For this, Aktaruzzaman appointed a person named Badal to monitor Anwarul Azim. But the plan was later withdrawn from the thought that a member of Parliament from the ruling party cannot be found guilty of murder inside the country. Later he took Anwarul to Kolkata and planned to kill him. Aktaruzzaman thought that if he was killed in Kolkata, everyone would assume that Anwarul was killed by his business associates there.

For this, on January 18, a murder was planned in a car in Kolkata. Their plan was that Aktaruzzaman would drive the car, Anwarul would sit next to him in the front seat. Shimul Bhuiyan, Siam Hossain and Jihad Howladar will be behind the car. After the murder in the car, the body will be dumped in the garbage.

Court depositions are part of the investigation. The information will be verified. What evidence is available to support his statement will also be seen. Apart from this, if you talk to other co-criminals, you will understand a lot. Then the investigation report will be prepared.

As planned, Aktaruzzaman and Shimul Bhuiyan went to Kolkata on January 18. However, Member of Parliament Anwarul did not go that day, he went the next day. As a result, unable to implement the plan, Shimul Bhuiyan returned to the country on January 19. Aktaruzzaman returned on January 30. And Anwarul Azim returned on January 24.

Aktaruzzaman thought that if he was killed in Kolkata, everyone would assume that Anwarul was killed by his business associates there. For this, on January 18, a murder was planned in a car in Kolkata.

After the first attempt failed in Calcutta, the murder was planned again in May. As part of this, Aktaruzzaman rented a house in Kolkata’s Newtown on April 25. On April 30, Aktaruzzaman, Shimul Bhuiyan and Shilasti Rahman went to that flat. Aktaruzzaman called MP Anwarul to Kolkata for a business meeting. On May 12, Anwarul went to Calcutta. Aktaruzzaman left Kolkata on May 10, plotting the murder of Shimul Bhuiyan. Although Anwarul knew that Aktaruzzaman was also in that flat in Kolkata.

Related sources said that according to Shimul Bhuiyan’s description during interrogation, they went to that flat and had some discussions and had light breakfast. But suspecting something, Anwarul Azim wants to come up. Then Shimul’s associates held him to the chair and tied him. Anesthetic was applied to him and he was photographed undressed. Send that picture to Aktaruzzaman. The picture was also sent to Jhenaidah District Awami League Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Kazi Kamal Ahmed.

Their table was that Aktaruzzaman would drive the car, Anwarul would sit next to him in the front seat. Shimul Bhuiyan, Siam Hossain and Jihad Howladar will be behind the car. After the murder in the car, the body will be dumped in the garbage.

Investigations by Dhaka and Kolkata police also revealed that on May 12, Anwarul went to Kolkata and stayed at his old friend Gopal Biswas’s house in Mandalpara Lane, Kolkata. He left the house at 1.40 pm the next day, talking about a business meeting. 30 minutes later, Anwarul called Gopal Biswas and asked him to send 4 lakh 20 thousand rupees. But carrying so much money is risky at the time of Lok Sabha elections, Anwarul insisted even after being informed. Gopal Biswas sent his manager 4 lakh 20 thousand rupees. After giving it to Anwarul in front of Bidhanpur School and College, he got into a white car and left. But it is not yet known where that 4 lakh 20 thousand rupees went.

Attempts were made to contact Gopal Biswas several times last Wednesday and Thursday on his mobile phone number in that country to get his statement. He didn’t pick up the phone. At one point on Thursday afternoon, a person called from a Bangladeshi phone number asking why Gopal’s number was being called. After introducing the journalist, he disconnected. Didn’t pick up the phone.

A month after Anwarul’s murder, the body has not been recovered yet. Kolkata Police recovered some bones from the canal along with Siam Hossain, who was arrested for his involvement in the disappearance of the dead body. Earlier, some pieces of meat were recovered from the flat’s septic tank. It will be known after the DNA test whether these are Anwarul’s body parts or not. Two in Kolkata and five in Bangladesh have been arrested in this incident. Meanwhile, after the statement of Shimul Bhuiyan in Dhaka court, police arrested two leaders of Jhenaidah district Awami League, Kazi Kamal Ahmed and Saidul Karim.

Murder of Parliamentarian Anwarul: ‘Jihad and Siam throw out the fragmented parts of the body’

Kazi Kamal Ahmed gave a confessional statement in Dhaka court yesterday. District Awami League leader Kazi Kamal Ahmed is in remand and Aktaruzzaman is absconding abroad, police said.

The accused and professional terrorist Shimul, accused in 25 cases including murder, is trying to take the incident in a different direction by mentioning the topic of ‘class enemy’ in his deposition, the people involved in the investigation believe.

‘Class Enemy’ theory to confuse

Former extremist leader Shimul Bhuiyan, who was arrested as the main murderer, gave a statement in Dhaka court on May 5. He said that his party Communist Party of East Bengal (ML) had decided to kill Anwarul in 1998 by calling him a ‘class enemy’. This decision was taken due to smuggling and forced land grabbing of people. After 26 years he implemented it. He claimed that he could not “digest” by killing a member of parliament, so he took the help of Aktaruzzaman.
