Former senior secretary. Part of money recovered from Shah Kamal’s house: Collected
Former Senior Secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry. Police recovered more than Tk 3 crore cash and foreign currency worth Tk 10 lakh from Shah Kamal’s house. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) raided Shah Kamal’s house on Babar Road in Mohammadpur of the capital on Friday evening and recovered these money and foreign currency.
According to the DMP, these money and foreign currency were recovered. from house number 29/2 and 3 of F Block of Babar Road on the basis of secret information. 3 crore 1 lakh 10 thousand 166 taka in cash, 100 taka prize bonds worth taka 74 thousand 400 and foreign currency worth taka 10 lakh 3 thousand 306 were recovered from that house. Among these foreign currencies, 3 thousand US dollars, 1 thousand 320 Malaysian ringgit, 2 thousand 969 Saudi riyals, 4 thousand 122 Singapore dollars, 1 thousand 915 Australian dollars, 35 thousand Korean yuan and 199 Chinese yuan were found.
When Shah Kamal was the Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief . There were allegations against him of receiving illegal money from various sources including transfers, purchases, development works. He retired from government service on 29 June 2020.
