Anti-Israel protests are spreading at US universities

Pro-Palestinian student protests have spread across the United States on university campuses. Their protest against Israel’s operation in Gaza had been going on for several days. At the same time, beatings are going on in the name of suppression of protests. As the days pass, the protests spread. Protesters pitched tents in the new campus.
Protesters continue to demonstrate in Brooklyn, New York. They are planning to block the road there. The area is home to US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Since last Friday, the police have arrested hundreds of protestors, including students. Among them are students of various traditional educational institutions like Columbia, Yale, New York University.
However, many critics have accused the protest of spreading anti-Semitism and harassment. Among them are some influential lawmakers of the Republican Party. On the other hand, rights activists have criticized the widespread beatings. According to them, freedom of speech is being undermined through this.
Since the sixties of the last century, the students of the University of California, Berkeley have been involved in various rights movements. Students here also protested against Israel’s indiscriminate attacks on Gaza. They are protesting by pitching a tent on the university campus.

California Polytechnic Humboldt has been closed due to anti-Israel protests on campus. Police removed protesters from the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul campus at the request of authorities.
A spokesperson for the New York Police Department said that by Monday evening, more than 120 protesters had been arrested on New York university campuses. The police arrested the protests after the request of the concerned authorities.
Hundreds of students were detained for participating in protests in Colombia last week. In the face of protests, Columbia University immediately stopped classes last Monday. The university authorities took this decision out of fear that Jewish students might be harassed.
