Question paper leak: 7 people including Abed in court, 10 in jail for confession

Seven persons, including former Public Service Commission (PSC) driver Syed Abed Ali. have been taken to court to record confessional statements under Section 164 in the case of leaking question papers of various recruitment examinations. Apart from this, the court ordered to send 10 people including Syed Abed Ali’s son to jail.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court Magistrate Tahmina Haque gave this order on Monday.

According to court and police sources, Syed Abed Ali, PSC despatch writer Khalilur Rahman and office assistant Sajedul Islam, Mirpur businessman Abu Solaiman Md. Sohail, businessman Sakhawat Hossain, businessman Saim Hossain and private university student Liton Sarkar were taken to court.

And the 10 accused sent to prison are Abed Ali’s son Syed Sohanur Rahman, Deputy Director of PSC. Abu Zafar and Jahangir Alam, assistant director. Alamgir Kabir, former army member Noman Siddique  . Dhaka University’s former Chhatra League leader and auditor Priyanath Roy, working in the Immigration and Passport Office of Dhaka. Mamunur Rashid, Security Guard of Narayanganj Passport Office. Shahadat Hossain, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital technician Niamul Hasan and Zahidul Islam.

Special Superintendent of Police of CID’s Cyber ​​Police Center (CPC) Touhidul Islam told Prothom Alo on Monday evening that these 17 persons were arrested in various areas of the capital in the last two days. The arrested persons were involved in the question paper leak of the Railway Sub-Assistant Engineer recruitment examination held on July 5. They are also said to be involved in leaking question papers of several non-cadre exams.

Private television channel Twenty Four published a report on the leak of question papers of various recruitment exams held under PSC last Sunday. There, PSC officials are alleged to be involved in the question paper leak.

According to the CID officials involved in the investigation.  The members of this circle used to leak the question papers and take money whenever there was a PSC recruitment exam. They leaked the question paper of the Railway Assistant Engineer recruitment exam held on July 5 (Friday). The members of the circle left the question papers and their answers in an anonymous place to the contracted students the night before the exam.
